Instagram folded IGTV into the main app a while ago, and long-form video now lives either as an extended Reel or under an older /tv/ address. What did not change is the problem: a fifteen-minute video with eleven plays looks like a video nobody finished, and visitors decide whether to press play by that number. This service moves it.

The target is the link of the video. Older IGTV uploads still answer to instagram.com/tv/ addresses; newer long uploads use /reel/. The form accepts /tv/, /reel/ and /p/ links so that whichever address your video carries, it can be sent here. If the video is short and clearly a Reel, the Reels views service is the more natural fit, though either works.

Views on long video are counted when playback starts, so they arrive as quickly as on short clips. The batch is complete within the hour in most cases. Views do not add likes or comments and they do not change watch time; they raise the play count that visitors and the ranking system see.

Long video is where a view batch is most useful and least sufficient. It gets people to press play; what happens after that is up to the video.

Is this different from Reels views?

Same kind of view, same delivery. The distinction is which page you found first. For a short clip, use Reels views; for a long one, this.

Do views help a long video get recommended?

They help it get opened. Whether Instagram recommends it further depends on how long people keep watching, which a batch cannot influence.
